When the record came to Greece the directors of Columbia recordings could not understand the reason behind the success. They also could not understand the lead instrument. After extensive research they concluded that what made that recording great was due to the fact that the instrument had a different sound that was coming from the unknown until then instrument, the bouzouki.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Here a lot is owed to John Halkias as he is the 1st official bouzoukiplayer to record music. Phonographs became a profession since 1928. So this song that was transmitted through the phonographs was the reason for a whole generation to\u00a0\u00a0get engaged with the bouzouki.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>A noon at the tavern of Ginopoulos at Tzitzifies, <a title=\"\u0393\u03b9\u03ac\u03bd\u03bd\u03b7\u03c2 \u03a0\u03b1\u03c0\u03b1\u03ca\u03c9\u03ac\u03bd\u03bd\u03bf\u03c5\" href=\"https:\/\/bouzoukigreek.com\/artists\/%ce%b3%ce%b9%ce%ac%ce%bd%ce%bd%ce%b7%cf%82-%cf%80%ce%b1%cf%80%ce%b1%ce%b9%cf%89%ce%ac%ce%bd%ce%bd%ce%bf%cf%85\/\">\u0393\u03b9\u03ac\u03bd\u03bd\u03b7\u03c2 \u03a0\u03b1\u03c0\u03b1\u03b9\u03c9\u03ac\u03bd\u03bd\u03bf\u03c5<\/a>\u00a0(John Papaioannou) was there with his work clothes (painter).
